I finally know where I'm living! I found out last Friday who and where I am living... and Monday I got an e-mail giving (a couple) more details. I'm living with Pia, 48 year old woman, who is divorced. She has two kids, one is 20 and in the military (not living at home,) and the other is 10 and named Amanda. She is a Social Worker who works from home with her foster child, Michael, who is 7 and autistic. She also has a cat :D
From google maps, I can tell you that she lives in a nice house in what looks like suburbia. She has a good sized backyard... and is only 13 KM (~8 miles) NW of the DIS main building in historic downtown Copenhagen :) It also says that it would only take 17 minutes by car to drive there... but I'll be taking public transit. Another thing: I don't know where I'm volunteering OR where half my classes will be (the half that are affiliated with the University of Copenhagen...) But its nice to know that I'm close to down town.
I have pictures of her, but I don't want to post them yet in case she doesn't want them shared :) I'm sure you'll get plenty of pictures later, anyway.
Only 2 more days of work. And a day of packing. And then... I'm off. It still kinda seems unreal. I do have most of my stuff done. I just need to pack and pick up a few last minute things, like little gifts for the kids. I think I'm going to go with a cute t-shirt (abercrombie? aeropostal?) for the 10 yr old girl and I think I'll try to hunt down a little mini soccer ball with the new seattle soccer team's logo on it for the autistic 7 yr old boy? If you have any other ideas... please let me know?
Anyway. I'm off to bed before my second to last day of work...
